Nephrology is a medical specialty concerned with the kidneys and especially with their structure, functions, and diseases.
Monash Health Nephrology cares for the renal treatment requirements of people located in southeast metropolitan Melbourne and Gippsland. This includes diagnosis, disease management, dialysis (haemodialysis and peritoneal), transplantation (kidney and pancreas) and supportive care. Nephrology also includes a clinical research unit and a research laboratory unit that are both world renowned. Nephrology also operates the Victorian Big Red Kidney Bus, a mobile dialysis unit for dialysis patients seeking to take a holiday and receive dialysis whilst on holidays.
